The Nigeria Commodity Leadership and Exporters Recognition Awards (NCLERA) 2025 has been unveiled as a continental initiative to promote transparency, productivity and measurable performance in Africa’s trade and export sector.
Dr Chinedu Amadi, President of Organisation of Youth in International Trade and Commerce (OY-ITC), disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria, in Abuja.
Amadi, also the founder of Trade Horizon Magazine and partners, said that the awards also aimed to honour genuine contributors driving growth, integrity and innovation within Nigeria’s non-oil export industry and the wider African trade ecosystem.
According to him, the awards which aims to promote transparency, productivity and measurable performance in the commodities and export value chain, is scheduled to hold on Dec. 11.
“NCLERA 2025 is not just a ceremony but a statement that Africa’s growth must now be defined by transparency, productivity and measurable value creation.
“NCLERA 2025 is anchored on the principle that true economic transformation begins when societies reward performance and inspire progress.
“Unlike conventional business awards, the awards will focus on verifiable data, measurable impact and proven contributions to economic growth,” he said.
Amadi said that the NCLERA 2025 would serve as a credible platform to celebrate the unsung heroes and motivate others to enhance value creation through transparency and productivity across the continent.
He added that while the awards would debut in Nigeria, the vision extends across Africa in alignment with the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) agenda, which seeks to build a single, transparent continental market.
He said that the award categories would include Commodity Leadership, Exporter of the Year, Agro-Innovation, Sustainability and Value Addition, Women in Commodity Leadership, Youth in Trade and Export and Lifetime Impact in Trade and Commodities.
“Each will be based on transparency indicators such as productivity, export expansion, community impact and contribution to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
“In addition to the awards, the strategic commodity leadership roadshow is to engage producers, exporters, investors and policymakers on improving competitiveness, accountability and trade expansion.
“The essence of the roadshow is to create strong awareness on the 2025 NCLERA.
“Recognition drives performance, and performance drives prosperity. When transparency and excellence are rewarded, innovation and growth multiply,” he said.
He, however, called on policymakers, investors and development agencies to support the initiative for transparency and performance. (NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
