Jumafor Ajogwu, producer of Nollywood musical drama, “Which Way,” says the movie is bringing conversations about domestic violence, childhood trauma and family silence to the forefront.

He said this in a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Abuja.

The movie was premiered at the Africa International Film Festival (AFRIFF) in Lagos.

According to Ajogwu, who is the founder of UK-based Bold Pictures, ‘Which Way’ is a musical drama produced by himself and directed by Jide Okeke.

“The film explores the experiences of a family living with the consequences of unresolved trauma.

“At the centre of the story is Ladi, a Lagos mechanic whose childhood experiences shape his behaviour toward his wife, Beatrice, and their teenage daughter, Feyi.

“Through music and drama, the film examines how violence and emotional pain can affect children and become embedded in family relationships.

“The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) and representatives of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) were among the invited guests at the premier.

“To support survivors and encourage help-seeking, the filmmakers placed cards containing the agency’s contact details on every seat.

“The DSVA’s toll-free line is 0800-333-333, while its WhatsApp line is 0904 271 2435,” Ajogwu said.

He further explained that the film was created to encourage audiences to confront difficult conversations about experiences often concealed within families.

“Most of us were raised with ‘what happens in this house stays in this house’. This film asks what that silence costs, especially for children”.

He noted that the film’s message comes ahead of the global 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, scheduled to run from Nov. 25 to Dec. 10.

The movie stars Floyd Igbo, Chidinma Nebo, Mariam Kayode and Onome Akpotebu.

Other cast members include Chimezie Imo, Stan Nze, Ijeoma Grace Agu and Yemi Blaq.

The production is presented by Bold Pictures in conjunction with Afribold Pictures Network and Future 6 Media (NAN)
