The Norwegian Government has lauded the Federal Government for its reforms of the nation’s security sector, through revamping policing infrastructure and reforms of the Force.
Mr Osaigbovo Ehisienmen, Press Secretary to the Minister of Police Affairs, Alhaji Muhammad Dingyadi, disclosed this in statement, on Tuesday, in Abuja.
He explained that Norway’s Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr Knut Eiliv Lein, gave the commendation at a meeting of a delegation from the embassy and the minister.
The ambassador reaffirmed the commitment of his country to deepen security ties with Nigeria, and revamp other areas of  bilateral relations between  the two  countries.

Lein also commiserated with the Nigeria Police, over the death of  four personnel in a repelled attack by bandits, on the Birnin-Gwari Highway in Kaduna State.
In his remarks, the police affairs minister expressed delight over the visit, adding that it would improve the cordial diplomatic ties, started in 1960, between Nigeria and Norway.
Dingyadi pledged the commitment of the federal government to accelerate the ongoing security sector reforms and policing infrastructure renaissance to a logical conclusion, saying that the reforms were aimed at strengthening security and safety in Nigeria, and the entire region, through effective policing.
The minister called for improved cooperation between the Nigerian and Norwegian police, through capacity building, exchange programs and instituting peer review mechanisms. (NAN)
