Tinubu celebrates NPC boss at 65 ‎ ‌‍⁠‍‌‍⁠⁠‍‌‌

‎President Bola Tinubu has congratulated the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Press Council (NPC), Dr Dili Ezughah, on his 65th birthday, commending his contributions to journalism, public communication and national development.
‎
‎Tinubu, in a congratulatory message issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Mr Bayo Onanuga, on Sunday, described Ezughah’s career as a testament to professionalism, dedication and service to the country.
‎
‎The President commended the celebrant for his commitment to the growth and advancement of the Nigerian press, particularly his efforts toward promoting professionalism, ethical conduct, responsibility and adherence to established media standards.
‎
‎He said Ezughah’s 65th birthday provided an opportunity to celebrate not only his personal milestone but also his contributions to the development and strengthening of Nigeria’s media landscape.
‎
‎“Through your service at the Nigerian Press Council and your broader contributions to the media profession, you have continued to play a role in strengthening the standards, ethics and responsibilities that underpin a credible press.”
‎
‎Tinubu noted that a credible and professionally responsible media remained essential to promoting informed public discourse, accountability and the effective functioning of democratic institutions in the country.
‎
‎The President stressed the importance of professionalism and ethical conduct in journalism, saying, “As our nation continues to deepen its democratic institutions, the role of a professional, ethical and responsible media cannot be overemphasised.”
‎
‎Tinubu further commended Ezughah for his commitment to the national responsibility associated with regulating and promoting standards within the Nigerian press, describing his service as valuable to the country’s democratic development.
‎
‎He expressed confidence that the celebrant would continue to bring his wealth of experience, knowledge and dedication to bear on efforts aimed at strengthening journalism and public communication in Nigeria.
‎
‎The President wished Ezughah renewed strength, wisdom and good health as he marks his 65th birthday, praying that he would continue to contribute meaningfully to national development and the advancement of the Nigerian press.(NAN)
