The PBAT/APC 2027 Presidential Campaign Council has appointed Eze-Onyebuchi Chukwu, National Youth Leader of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), as Deputy Director, Youth Mobilisation, South-East Zone.

Chukwu, who also chairs the Forum of National Youth Leaders of Political Parties in Nigeria, will deputise Chief Obinna Iyiegbu, popularly known as Obi Cubana, the zonal director.

He will mobilise youths across the region for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid under the Renewed Hope 2.0 campaign.

In a statement on Wednesday, Chukwu said his assessment of Tinubu’s policies, appointments and infrastructure projects in the South-East informed his decision to accept the appointment.

He thanked Tinubu, the council’s Director-General, Sen. Abdulaziz Yari, and the National Director of Youth Mobilisation, Ayodele Olawande, for the confidence reposed in him.

He also thanked APGA’s national leadership for the platform and opportunities that contributed to his political development.

Chukwu said the South-East had received attention under Tinubu’s administration in political inclusion, strategic appointments and infrastructure development.

“In my view, the last administration that demonstrated a comparable level of engagement with the region was that of former President Olusegun Obasanjo,” he said.

He acknowledged that the region still faced significant development challenges, stressing the need for continued engagement to address the expectations of its people.

Chukwu pledged to promote issue-based political engagement, constructive dialogue, peaceful democratic participation and youth inclusion in national development.

He said politics should build bridges, create opportunities and advance public welfare rather than deepen divisions.

Nkem Nwodo is the directorate’s secretary, while members include Chimamkpam Ogbonaya, Jerry Chinedu and Carl Mbanefo.

The appointment places an APGA national youth leader in the APC-led campaign council ahead of the 2027 general elections. (NAN) www.nannews.ng
