The Lagos State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Mrs Cecilia-Dada Bolaji, has urged market women, SMEs, young adults and artisans to leverage digital marketing for business growth.
According to a statement issued by the ministry, Bolaji gave the advice on Monday at a digital marketing training for market women and men, SMEs, young adults and artisans at Agege.
The training, with the theme “From Local Business to Global Market: Leveraging Digital Marketing for Business Growth,” is being held from Sept. 28 to Sept. 30.
Bolaji said technology had expanded the marketplace, enabling a market woman in Oshodi to receive orders from Abuja and businesses to reach customers beyond Lagos.
“Your market is no longer just your street. It is now Lagos, Nigeria and the world,” she said.
She said digital marketing could help participants reach customers, promote their products and grow their businesses, adding that it involved understanding customers and creating good content.
The Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Mrs Rianat Onigbanjo, said the training provided practical digital marketing skills to improve business visibility and access wider markets.
She said the training aligned with the commitment of the administration of Gov. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu to equip residents with relevant skills and create opportunities for meaningful economic participation.
Onigbanjo said the ministry recognised the expertise of consultants from Liquid Luck Consulting, led by Mr. Lincoln Oluwatoni, for facilitating the training and sharing practical knowledge.
“I urge you to take the skills acquired here beyond this venue, apply them deliberately in your businesses, crafts and areas of endeavour, and use them to grow your customer base and increase your income,” she said.
She encouraged participants to remain fully engaged, ask questions and maximise every learning opportunity, wishing them a fruitful, practical and rewarding training.(NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
