The Emir of Zazzau Ahmed Bamalli has assured the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) of traditional institution’s support and called for improved efficiency in Hajj operations for Nigerian pilgrims.
Head, Information and Publications Division, NAHCON, Shafii Mohammed, said this in a statement on Wednesday in Abuja.
He explained that Bamalli gave the assurance when he paid a visit to the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of NAHCON, Amb. Ismail Yusuf, in Abuja
The emir commended the commission’s leadership for its ongoing efforts to reform Hajj operations.
He said managing the logistics of tens of thousands of pilgrims was a monumental responsibility requiring a high level of dedication, transparency and strategic planning.
Bamalli emphasised that the Zazzau Emirate, as well as the traditional institution at large, remained a critical stakeholder in mobilising and sensitising intending pilgrims to ensure a seamless Hajj exercise.
He said the comfort, safety and well-being of Nigerian pilgrims must remain paramount as they embarked on the significant spiritual journey to fulfil their religious obligation.
“Hajj is a significant spiritual journey, and the comfort, safety, and well-being of our people while fulfilling this religious obligation must remain paramount.
“We are here to offer our prayers, counsel, and support to NAHCON,” while urging the commission to sustain its drive toward structural efficiency, early preparations and transparent communication,” the emir stated.
Bamalli said such measures would help the commission overcome recurring operational challenges associated with the organisation and administration of Hajj for Nigerian pilgrims.
Responding, the NAHCON chairman expressed deep gratitude to the Emir of Zazzau for the historic visit, describing it as a major morale booster for the management and staff of the commission.
The chairman briefed the royal father on the commission’s latest policy frameworks, digital innovations and strategic partnerships aimed at reducing costs, improving accommodation, feeding arrangements, and streamlining the airlift of pilgrims.
Yusuf assured the emir that NAHCON would carefully consider the valuable insights provided during the interaction.
He further reaffirmed the commission’s commitment to delivering a world-class Hajj experience that meets the expectations of the Nigerian Government and the Muslim Ummah.(NAN)
