The Chairman of Igbogbo/Baiyeku Local Council Development Area, Mr Hammed Aroyewun, says ongoing construction of Sen. Adeseye Ogunlewe Road will improve accessibility, ease transportation challenges and boost economic activities in the area.
Speaking during the inspection on Saturday,
Aroyewun said the exercise was aimed at assessing the project’s progress and ensuring compliance with quality and delivery standards.
Mr Babajimi Benson, Member representing Ikorodu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, also took part in the inspection.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the project, facilitated by Benson, is located in Apalura and Selewu communities in Igbogbo.
Aroyewun described the project as a practical demonstration of the benefits of collaboration between the National Assembly and the local council administration.
He said infrastructural development remained a key pillar of his administration’s ‘GLORY Agenda’, an acronym for Good Governance, Learning, Optimal Wellness, Roads, and Youth and Sports.
The chairman commended Benson for his efforts in attracting federal interventions to complement the council’s development initiatives.
Also speaking, Benson reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring that the dividends of democracy reached every part of his constituency.
He said Sen. Adeseye Ogunlewe Road was one of several projects he had facilitated in the area, and pledged to continue monitoring the project until its completion.
Benson expressed confidence in the pace of construction and stressed the need for the project to meet the required quality standards.
Mr Adewale Ogunyemi, a resident of Apalura community, commended the ongoing project, saying its completion would ease transportation challenges and improve the movement of people and goods in the area.
Similarly, Mrs Yetunde Akinola, a resident of Selewu, expressed optimism that the project would improve the quality of life of residents.
Akinola said the road, when completed, would reduce the difficulties residents faced in accessing their homes and businesses, while enhancing connectivity between the communities. (NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
