Former Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki, will inaugurate a private Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Centre in Azare, Katagum Local Government Area of Bauchi State, on Aug. 16.
The centre, established by Usman Adamu-Suphi, is the largest privately developed ICT facility in the North-East, according to the Suphi Support Group.
In a statement signed by Isa Shehu on Saturday, the group said the facility would serve as a regional technology hub for digital skills development and innovation.
It said the centre would provide young people, entrepreneurs and residents with opportunities to acquire ICT skills, promote digital entrepreneurship and improve access to technology.
According to the group, the project is aimed at bridging the digital divide while supporting youth empowerment and economic development in the region.
The group added that the initiative demonstrated how private-sector investment could complement government efforts in human capital development and digital inclusion.
It expressed optimism that the inauguration would further encourage investment in technology and innovation across the North-East. (NAN)
