The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr Nyesom Wike, says he is targeting no fewer than 20 projects for inauguration during President Bola Tinubu’s third anniversary.

Wike, who stated this after he inspected some ongoing projects in Abuja on Monday, added that a definite list of projects to be inaugurated by Tinubu would be finalised before May 28th.

He said that the projects, when inaugurated, would touch the lives of Abuja residents, and also have a positive impact on the economy of the city.

On the road project connecting Wuse with the Central Business District, the minister said that the contractor had assured him the project would be completed in mid-June.

He praised the quality of the job, but admitted to harboring some reservations to meeting the delivery dateline.

Wike, who said he is hopeful, noted that the project is progressing steadily, with the first bridge already completed and work currently underway on the second bridge.

“I’m afraid that even though the contractor has shown that the road will be completed by the second week of June, I’m not quite comfortable. But let us believe what they have said,” he added.

The minister also visited ongoing construction of an access road to the Mabushi Bus/Taxi Terminal, and expressed confidence that the project would be delivered on time.

For the Jahi interchange to connect Jahi, Gwarimpa and Life Camp, the minister, who commended the quality of the project, also assured residents of timely completion. (NAN)
